Glendale plans a huge Native American gala this weekend, with more than 1,000 dancers expected to compete…. When: Friday, May 1, 2009 (10:00 AM), Saturday May 2, 2009 (9:00 AM) and Sunday, May 3, 2009 (9:00 AM.)

It’s called (appropriately enough) Free Comic Book Day –and it’s the first Saturday in May. What you do is go into a participating comic book store and pick out a FREE comic book.

The event on Saturday, May 9, 2009 runs all day and includes expert photographers such as: Joseph Sterling (photographer & student of Callahan, Siskind & Sommer) Claire C…. Davis (Curator of Photography at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City) Harold Jones (photographer, curator , educator and former director of LIGHT Gallery, New York) You get ALL of this for .

( Note: This location will give out a free ice cream cup or cone instead of the Iceberg. They will be given out on Thursday, April 30, 2009 between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM.)

King, an artist who specializes in watercolor, acrylic, mixed media paintings, and furniture, will be exhibiting all this in the exhibit called “Inner Sanctum.”… There will be a FREE reception for the artist on May 1, from 7:00 PM -1-:00 PM.
