Cheap Ways to Enjoy the Arizona State Fair

Many thanks to Juliet F. for sending along a boatload of cool deals for all of us. First up is a list of cheap ways to enjoy the Arizona State Fair, which opens on Friday, October 16, 2009.

Pre-Fair deals: Buy an Arizona State Fair ticket online before midnight October 15, 2009 and pay just $6 for adults and $3 for kids and seniors. Or subscribe to the Arizona State Fair newsletter before midnight October 15, 2009 and adults get in for $5; kids and seniors pay $2.50. (You’ll get a promo code when you sign up–use it.) Note that regular adult fair admission is $10, so these are nice deals.

Other ways to save during the fair:

On opening day–Friday, October 16, 2009– you can get in for $1 before 7:00 PM.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays (October 20, 22, 27, & 29 and November 3 and 5, 2009) you can get free admission to the fair if you arrive between noon and 1:00 PM.

On Wednesdays, you can get in free from noon to 6:00 PM if you donate one of the following items:

-          new pair of adult-sized socks
-          new, sealed bottle of water
-          new/used adult-sized hats
-          new white adult-sized t-shirts
-          new adult-sized underwear

Note that on Wednesdays (October 21, 28 and November 4, 2009) rides and games are $1. Buy your ride and game cards at Midway Ticket booths and they will be honored until closing. Extreme rides, gravity storm, and rock walls are not included).

Fridays (October 23, 30 and November 6, 2009) bring Happy Hour deals from noon to 6:00 PM. You get half price admission, $1 rides and $1 games, and $1 food items.

On Friday, October 30, 2009 from noon to 10:00 PM, all military personnel, veterans, and their dependents get in free. Take your military ID to the Encanto Admission Gate at the Northeast corner of the fairgrounds.

And . . . a BOGO from Lowe’s: Every Saturday, from 10am -6pm you can take a Lowe’s receipt to the fair and receive one FREE Fair admission when you buy one regular-price admission of equal or lesser value.

When: OPENING hours are: Tue. – Fri. 12 noon; Sat. – Sun. 10am; Closed Mondays.

CLOSING HOURS: Sun. – Thurs. 10pm; Fri. – Sat. 11:30pm

How much: REGULAR admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids aged 5-13 and $5 for seniors (55+)

Tuesday – Sunday parking is $10 in all Fairgrounds parking lots.
