Snow Day at the Phoenix Zoo

The Phoenix Zoo hosts one of my favorite events this weekend . . . Snow Day! It’s officially called Winter in July, but in any case, tons of snow are delivered to the zoo as part of their animal behavioral enrichment program. You see, they are giving the animals a treat. There are a series of enrichment events, and you can grab a calendar on the website. Watch the lions lick a blood-sickle!
There’s also fun for people on the coolest day of summer (hee hee). Kids will have a special area just for them to play in the snow. YOU can test your snowball throwing skills.
Seriously, this is a fabulous event. Do go if you can.
