FREE Airplane Rides for the Kiddos

Oh, a good one from our friends at Charlotte on the Cheap–thanks much!

The Young Eagles program is for kids, aged 8 – 17. Kids get a FREE airplane ride. Isn’t that great? Here are the details:

Volunteer pilots walk your youngsters through a pre-flight plan inspection and then teach them about the instrument panel. And then . . . drumroll . . . the kids get a FREE airplane ride, lasting about 15-20 minutes. Seriously, seriously cool!

Why are the volunteer pilots doing this? They are trying to pass along their knowledge and get kids interested in the wonders of flight. Maybe your youngster will grow up to be a pilot.

Here’s what you do: First start off by clicking right here. That takes you to a page containing all fifty states. Choose Arizona and you’re taken to a list of participating area co-ordinators. Call the one nearest you and schedule a flight. Sometimes there are pilots closer to you, so be sure to ask the co-ordinator. So all scheduling goes through the co-ordinator, got it? You set up where and when with the co-ordinator.

If you would like further information, call 920-426-6114 or toll free at 877-806-8902.

How much: FREE.
