It’s getting cooler here in the Valley of the Sun and local farms are ready with their annual pumpkin patches. Festivals are planned along with the choice of a pumpkin, some are more elaborate celebrations offering more rides and events and are more expensive than others.
Whether your desire is to just pick your own pumpkin or if you want the entire festival experience, or maybe a bit in between, fun abounds for the entire family in all of the pumpkin patches located in the Phoenix area.
Phoenix on the Cheap has compiled the following list of Phoenix area pumpkin patches’ locations, offerings, and prices.
Seasonal Farms
With locations throughout the Valley, Seasonal Farms offers entire lots that sell pumpkins in a festive environment. From October 11 – 31, pay $5 to enter, which goes toward the purchase of a pumpkin. Multiple shapes and sizes of pumpkins are available. Pumpkins generally cost between $5 and $60 depending on size.

Additionally, on Saturday, October 12, Seasonal Farms’ 9th Annual Kids Day is from 9am – noon at the lot at 2601 North 99th Ave., Phoenix, 85037. Children 12 and under pay $10, which includes a free pumpkin and treat bag. There will be pumpkin decorating, games with prizes, and craft projects. Face painting and animal show will cost extra.
Mother Nature’s Farm
For an actual family-run farm experience, visit Mother Nature’s Farm’s Pumpkin Patch. The farm’s entrance fee for their pumpkin patch is $15 and includes a pumpkin, a hayride, spider web crawl, feeding the animals, and Alexander’s Adventure Maze. Mother Nature’s Farm is located at 1663 East Baseline Rd., Gilbert, 85233.
The pumpkin patch runs from Sept. 21 – Oct. 31. Open Monday – Sunday, 9 am to 9 pm. It’s unclear what the actual size of the pumpkin is that’s included with the entrance fee, so plan to spend extra if a larger pumpkin is desired.
Please note: Mother Nature’s website will not be up and running again until September 21, 2024.
MacDonald’s Ranch
For an even more festive and fun experience, plan on visiting the MacDonald’s Ranch Pumpkin Patch in Scottsdale at 26540 North Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, 85255. For a fee of $15 per person, visitors can enjoy a petting zoo, hay-bale maze and pyramid, panning for gold, a scavenger hunt, and more.
In addition to the entrance fee, plan on spending $2 to $60 for a pumpkin, depending on size. Visit MacDonald’s Ranch’s pumpkin patch daily from October 3 – 30, open 9 am to 5 pm, closed on Tuesdays. The Pumpkin Patch closes at 1 p.m. on Halloween Day, October 31, 2024.
According to the website, visitors must pay the entrance fee in order to get a pumpkin at the patch. Train, pony, and mechanical bull rides are for additional fees. For more details, click here. Discount days are planned as well as early bird specials.
Vertuccio Farms
Accelerate the fun in Mesa at Vertuccio Farms’ Fall Festival, September 27 – October 31. Family fun includes a corn maze, super mega slide, spider crawl, pumpkin bowling, train rides, lots of games, and much more. It will cost $16 per person for festival entrance. Buy tickets in advance here beginning in September.
Visitors don’t need to enter the festival to purchase a pumpkin, which are priced according to size and variety, usually around $5 – $60.
Vertuccio Farms is located at 4011 S. Power Rd., Mesa 85212. The Fall Festival runs from September 27 – October 31 and is open Wednesday – Thursday, 3 – 9 pm; Friday and Saturday, 9 am – 10 pm; and Sunday 12 – 7 pm.
Closed on Mondays & Tuesdays except for October 28 & 29, open 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Tomalchaff Farms
Even more fun is to be had at Tomalchaff Farms’ Pumpkin Days in Glendale, October 2 – 31. Family fun rules in the 6-acre family corn maze, petting zoo, train ride, hay pyramid, corn box, adult-child pedal cart track, jumping pillow, and much more.
The entrance fee is $17 at the gate. Click here for advance tickets. Additional prices are charged for the haunted corn maze, train rides, and for a pumpkin, depending on size. Pumpkins can be purchased without having to pay to get into the Pumpkin Days celebration.
Tomalchaff Farms is located at 5726 N. 75th Ave. Glendale AZ 85303. Days & hours for Pumpkin Days follow: Wed.–Thur. 1–8 pm, Fri. 1–10 pm, Sat. 10 am–10 pm, and Sun. 10 am – 8 pm.
Beginning in September, for serious frights as loud as you can scream the Arizona Field of Screams, Haunted Corn Maze is also at Tomalchaff Farms, click here for more details. Costs range from $20 – $30 depending on date attending.
Schnepf Farms
Here’s the largest extravaganza in the Valley, Schnepf Farms’ Pumpkin & Chili Party, taking place Oct. 3 – 31 in Queen Creek. Picture an entire amusement park plus an 8-restaurant food court meeting a farm atmosphere, and that’s the Pumpkin & Chili Party. Midway rides, hayrides, entertainment stages, games, corn maze, rock wall climbing, and much more are at this party.
Bring a lot of money, it’s $25.95 per person. Entrance fee doesn’t include the train ride, haunted bus, food, or pumpkin. Pumpkins to pick are in the middle of the event and will be $5-30, depending on size. You must pay to get into the event to purchase a pumpkin. Click here for more details about tickets.
Schnepf Farms is located at 24810 S. Rittenhouse Rd., Queen Creek, 85142. The Pumpkin & Chili Party’s hours are as follows: Thurs. 12-9 pm, Fri. 12-10 pm, Sat. 10 am-10 pm, Sun. 10 am-9 pm. Fireworks will shoot off 30 min. prior to close on Friday and Saturday.
