Chandler residents, have you biked along the Paseo Trail?
Chandler residents are invited to join the City Council for a fun and
leisurely bicycle ride along the scenic Paseo Trail during the annual Chandler Family Bike
Ride on Saturday, April 4, 2020.
This 7.8-mile ride is held in conjunction with Valley Bike Month (April) and will start at
Chandler’s Park & Ride lot, 2100 Hamilton St., which is on the southwest corner of
Germann and Hamilton streets, in Tumbleweed Park. The riders will travel east through
the park to the Paseo Trail, then ride north along the Consolidated Canal to Tibshraeny
Family Park. After a short break and some refreshments, the participants will ride back to
Tumbleweed Park.
“This is one of the best family-friendly events we have every year. It’s a great morning of
fun for families and it is free,” said Mayor Kevin Hartke. “Several hundred active Chandler
residents will get to enjoy a ride along the Paseo Trail and get some exercise, too.”
Family Bike Ride participants will receive a free t-shirt while supplies last, and there will be
activities and light refreshments, along with information about bicycle safety, transit
services and related topics.
Pre-register online starting March 2 at chandleraz.gov/familybikeride until noon, Thursday,
April 2. Participant check-in and same-day registration will be available from 7:30-8:30 a.m.
at the Park & Ride lot. The ride starts at 8:30 a.m. All riders must wear helmets and sign a
waiver.
