Thinking about taking a dip in the pool this summer? Great, if you have a pool. If not, or if you’re looking for swim lessons for your kids, try one of the Aquatics Programs through the City of Phoenix, Park and Recreation Department.
The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department staff looks forward to seeing community members at a City pool during summer 2024. For details about which pools are open and which pools will be opening soon, see below.
Opening Schedule for Phoenix Pools
There are 12 pools open all season long. An additional six pools, three will open in June and three will open in July, for a total of 18 pools to choose from this summer beginning May 26 – 27 and continuing again June 1 – July 28, 2024.
This year at Phoenix Public Pools, kids swim for FREE. It’s $3 for Adults to swim and $1 for Seniors.
Pools open for the entire season:
Coronado, Cortez, Deer Valley, El Prado, Encanto, Maryvale, Paradise Valley, Pecos, Roosevelt, Starlight, Sunnyslope, Washington pools. These pools will be open May 27-29, June 3-July 30 (closed Fridays).
Pools open selectively in June (and Memorial Day Weekend):
Cielito, Harmon and Perry pools. These three pools will be open May 27-29, June 3-29 (closed Fridays).
Pools open selectively in July:
Falcon, Pierce and University pools. These three pools will be open July 3-30 (closed Fridays).
Select pools open for extended season:
Cortez, Encanto, Maryvale, Paradise Valley, Pecos, Roosevelt, Sunnyslope, Pierce pools. These eight pools will be open weekends through Labor Day. Open dates are August 5-6, 12-13, 19-20, 26-27 and September 2-4.

Swimming Lesson Schedule
For around $15, you can get a month’s worth of swimming lessons for your child at your closest pool. Different lessons are offered depending upon your child’s ability level.
