Kid Zone Experience
The 2019 Kid Zone Experience provides the opportunity to try your hand at fun things like:
- Life-Size Marble Run
- Hex Bugs
- Angry Birds STEM Launch
- Make-Your-Own Salsa
- Preschool Sensory Zone
- And more – all activities representative of the Kid Zone Enrichment Program.
The Tempe Public Library Youth Librarians will once again host an interactive StoryWalk®.
A StoryWalk® is a self-led walk, along which you can read a children’s storybook at different spots while you walk. You begin at the green sign outside of the Escalante Community Center entrance, and follow the story until you finish at the red sign.
StoryWalk® is a fun and educational way to incorporate literacy and exercise.

Just for Kids Fishing Festival
Anglers of all ages are invited to the west side of Kiwanis Lake between 8 a.m. and noon 2020 “Just for Kids” Fishing Festival February 20, 2020, at the Tempe Kiwanis Park 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. Anglers United and Arizona Game and Fish will provide everything you need (poles, bait and a little guidance) for FREE during the event.
This astronomy event is FREE and fun for the family. No registration is required.
Spend an evening under the starry sky at Veterans Oasis Park where participants can enjoy telescope viewing, a self-guided solar system walk, other astronomy activities, and crafts for kids.
Telescopes viewing is provided by the East Valley Astronomy Club and the viewing will begin once the sky is dark. This event may be canceled due to inclement weather but activities inside the Environmental Education Center will still be available for all.
