Even though it’s nowhere near St. Patty’s Day, you can still experience the luck of the Irish at an exhilarating and whimsical concert. Professional musicians are always enjoyable to hear and watch. Irish music selections burst out at the audience and are totally entertaining.
What better musicians to experience it with than The Women’s Orchestra of Arizona, lead by Cindy H. Petty, Associate Conductor.
On the agenda is an inspiring program of orchestral music, possibly new to the audience’s ears. It begins with Ina Boyle’s Symphony No. 1 ‘Glencree,’ a lush and evocative piece inspired by the Hills of County Wicklow, Ireland.
The program continues with Irish composer Joan Trimble’s charming Suite for Strings, showcasing her distinct melodic voice.
The highlight of the program will be the American premiere of John Glenesk Mortimer’s St. Andrew Concerto, a dynamic and captivating new work that promises to enthrall audiences.
