ASU Gammage throws open its doors Monday. You will see a special 20-minute behind-the-scenes video about all the cool shows coming to ASU Gammage this season. You will also see performances by the cast of Shrek the Musical and Billy Elliot the Musical.

You will be encouraged to buy season play subscriptions, but the evening includes free food from Tempe’s La Bocca Pizzeria & Wine Bar. The event itself is also free.

This Saturday evening, come on out to Estrella Mountain Regional Park for Bat Night in the Park.

You will learn all about our little nighttime friends. They are sweet and adorable, not scary at all! You definitely want them around your house. Park rangers will demystify this wonderful creature with a talk in the air-conditioned Nature Center. Then you and the others will walk out in the park and see if you can find some and listen in on their echo location signals with a special device.

On Saturday afternoon/evening at the Tempe Marketplace, enjoy a free back to school fashion show featuring clothing from a variety of Tempe Marketplace retailers. The best part (in my opinion)? On Friday night at the Tempe Marketplace, enjoy a free concert from the KC Blues Band, starring Kevin Casenhiser, a 17 year old blues guitarist. He may be young, but he’s played at over 150 Arizona venues. He and his band released a debut album, Perfectly Toasted Blues, last year. The band has won all sorts of awards and accolades.
The concert will be on the District Stage.
