It’s now the last week of that Medieval time of year, the Arizona Renaissance Festival, February 3 through March 31, 2024.
Experience the historic 30-acre village with 14 stages, arts and crafts, jousting tournaments, and feasting all rolled up into one day. Dressing up and going Medieval may sound strange, even odd, but once you have joined the fun and excitement, you’ll come back every year.
Food
Let’s talk about the food. Go with an empty stomach. There’s tons of great food including plenty of food trucks with a Medieval flair. Leave the silverware at home, everything is eaten with your fingers only, especially those turkey legs.
Entertainment
There’s lots of it. From hatchet throwing to fire-eating to jousting. Yep, jousting in full armor both men and women. The plays and comedy shows, the great music, this is true entertainment for the whole family. Can’t forget games and people-powered rides for the kids.

History
Period artisans and experts will show you how–blacksmithing, weaving, belly dancing, archery, and much more. You can pick up a few tips or just shop for supplies. The Renaissance Festival will have several stations where you can try these skills hands-on and also learn about life in the Middle Ages. Kids, in particular, will have a great day, but there’s fun for the whole family.
Shopping
You’ll find some amazing finds at the festival. There is everything from local honey, paper, leather products, and the list goes on. Watch an artisan create usable but beautiful plates, cups, and decorative wares. Whatever you need, you’ll find it back in the Middle Ages at the Renaissance Festival.
