‘Tis the season for spring time family fun. Easter is right around the corner, on Sunday, April 9. Those who gave up something for Lent may laser-focus on the upcoming date when beginning to indulge again, but for others, it might be a surprise that Easter is coming up so quickly.
The big day itself is a great opportunity to get together with friends or family for brunch or dinner, but what if you have too many places to go and too many people to see to fit into just a few hours? Luckily, many places are making it easier to enjoy early Easter family activities. See below for some FREE or cheap ways to celebrate.
Come join the fun at the annual Easter Egg hunt on Saturday, March 25 from 10 am – 1 pm at Desert Foothills Park in Ahwatukee. A fun day of events for the whole family. Enjoy the perfect day with egg hunt, photo booth, photos with the Easter Bunny, bounce houses, food trucks, games, face painting, raffles, music, and more.
- Egg Hunt times are 10:40 am for 4 year-olds and younger, 11:10 am for 5-7 year-olds, 11:40 am for 8-10 year-olds, and 12:10 pm for 11 years old and older.
This egg-stravagant event takes place at the Salvation Army’s Kroc Center on Saturday, April 1, from 10 am – 1 pm. From arts and crafts to games, music, and food trucks, there’s something for everyone. Kids will love the inflatable bounce houses and obstacle course, while parents can check out community resource booths and enjoy dance performances.
- Egg Hunts begin at 10 am for ages 0-4 and every half-hour after for ages 5 – 8.
Experience a black light, glow in the dark egg hunt running indoors from 11 am – 2 pm on Saturday, April 1 at the Crossroads Nazarene Church in Chandler. Enjoy outside giant inflatables, food trucks, petting zoo, plus FREE carnival games. There’s also a photo booth, FREE popcorn and cotton candy, FREE face painting, and an appearance from the Easter Bunny.
- Special appearance from the Chandler Fire Truck at 1 pm and early access for families with special needs starting at 10 am.
Jump on over to the Tempe Marketplace for a fantastic springtime celebration on Saturday, April 1 from 4 – 6 pm. Get pictures with the Easter bunny, enjoy an egg hunt, and dance to live entertainment by Funergy. Create fun crafts, pick up free giveaways, and more.

Hop on over to the ultimate spring celebration at Desert Ridge Marketplace on Friday, April 7 from 4:30 – 6:30 pm in Northeast Phoenix. Snap a free photo with some bunny special and enjoy an egg hunt, live entertainment by Funergy, crafts, giveaways and more throughout Desert Ridge Marketplace’s District area. Looks like a similar celebration to Tempe Marketplace’s.

Bring even your littlest children, ages 1 to 10, out for free Easter egg hunts on Saturday, April 8 from 9 am – 1:30 pm in Central Phoenix at Encanto Park’s Enchanted Island. The eggs are prize-filled with toys, hard candy, or Enchanted Island coupons for free rides and more. Each age group will start at its own time, so be sure to check Enchanted Island’s site for the schedule, and arrive early to be sure you can register in time. Bring your own basket.

Don’t miss 2 Easter Egg Hunts and professional photos with the Easter Bunny on Saturday, April 8 from 10 am – 2 pm at the Arizona Boardwalk in Scottsdale. Enjoy interactive stage entertainment, bounce houses, face painting, Easter crafts, coloring contests, music, games, and tons of prizes.
- Easter Egg hunts begin at 10:30 for ages 0-3, at 11:00 for ages 4-6, at 11:30 for ages 7-9, and at 12 pm for ages 10-13.
Celebrate spring with the Royal Palm neighborhood on April 8 from 9 – 11:30 am at Royal Palm Park. in the ultimate tradition with family-friendly springtime activities. Includes giant egg hunt, food trucks, music, bounce houses, crafts and games, balloon artists, face painting, visit from the Easter Bunny and Helper Hare, local business vendors, and more.

Welcome spring and have fun at these free and cheap Easter 2023 events. Most of the Easter egg hunts at these events are family-style BYOB, bring your own basket.
