Lights! Camera! Savings! The Cinema Foundation is making Labor Day weekend more action-packed with its newly introduced National Cinema Day.
On Saturday, September 3, tickets will be just $3 at most Phoenix area movie theaters, including AMC Theatres, Harkins Theaters, and Regal Cinema Gilbert. That’s every movie, every show, every format for a $3 ticket.
Movie Theaters are known for adding extra fees to ticket prices. Unfortunately, National Cinema Day is no exception. Frugal film fanatics, see below for a comparision between theaters of what movie goers will actually spend for a ticket on September 3.
AMC Theaters is offering $3 movie tickets on September 3. There’s also a $1.99 “convenience fee” added per ticket. Total ticket price for a movie on National Cinema Day at AMC Theaters is $4.99.
Harkins Theaters is also participating on National Cinema Day by offering $3 tickets. There’s a $1.50 charge for “taxes and fees” added per ticket. Total ticket price for a movie at a Harkins Theater on September 3 is $4.50.
At Regal Cinema Gilbert, $3.24 (not $3) movie tickets are offered on September 3. There’s an additional $1.94 “booking fee,” which makes the price of a movie ticket on September 3 at Regal Cinema Gilbert $5.18.
Fees, extra charges, and taxes apply to both in-person and online ticket purchases. Book your movie ticket online or via app prior to September 3 to verify exact fees and additional charges.
No matter the extra fees, National Cinema Day is still a great deal and the perfect opportunity to enjoy a summer blockbuster on the big screen again or experience a new flick you’ve been wanting to check out.
Let’s go to the movies!
