Happy Fourth of July, 2023
Celebrate Independence Day with some spectacular firework displays planned for all around the Valley of the Sun for FREE. Along with the fireworks, these celebrations have additional events and attractions planned, like concerts and festivals with food and drink, going on at the same time.
Fireworks generally start at sundown. Below are some of the major fireworks displays going on in the Valley from July 1 through July 4, along with their specific events and attractions with times and locations listed. Most of these events are family-friendly with no alcohol being served. Click the link for each event listed below for more details.

Light up the Sky Independence Day Celebration
Ignite your celebration in Avondale early, come on out to Light Up the Sky Independence Day Celebration. The fun begins on Saturday, July 1 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Phoenix Raceway.
The FREE general admission area includes tailgate parking with your friends and family. Enjoy a variety of food trucks, play games in the Kid Zone, and dance to live music before being dazzled by a 25-minute spectacular fireworks show.

Independence Day Celebration – Anthem
Celebrate Anthem’s Independence Day Celebration with a FREE fireworks display. In addition, the kids will enjoy fun rides and water slides. Don’t forget to bring your appetite as there will be plenty of festival food! Families are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for comfort.
Join the festivities in Anthem from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Monday, July 3 at the Community Park, located at 41703 N. Gavilan Peak Parkway, Anthem, 85086. Click here for details.
Fourth at the Fountain Independence Day Celebration
Start the celebration off by wearing that red, white, and blue at Fountain Hills’ Fourth at the Fountain Independence Day Celebration on Tuesday, July 4. It’s a FREE event with fireworks starting at 9 p.m., but get to Fountain Park at 12925 North Saguaro Boulevard, Fountain Hills, 85268, at 7 p.m. for the beginning festivities.
Dance to the live music of the Rock Lobster Band, and watch the city’s famous fountain light up in patriotic colors. Food trucks will be on hand for hungry family members. Bring lawn chairs and blankets for your comfort. Click here for more details.
Independence Day Celebration in Buckeye
Experience an exhilarating fireworks display, tail-gate style at the Buckeye Airport on Tuesday, July 4 at 3000 S. Palo Verde Rd., Buckeye, 85326. The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. and goes until 9:30 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m. The event promises food trucks, other types of vendors, and live music.
This is a FREE family-friendly event. According to the Independence Day Celebration website, no glass, alcohol, pets, grills, fire pits, or individual fireworks are allowed.
City of Surprise Independence Day Celebration
Celebrate the birth of our nation in Surprise. Listen to some moving music from a DJ while the kids play on inflatables on Tuesday, July 4, beginning at 6 p.m. Then, fireworks will start at around 8:45 p.m., weather permitting. Food trucks will be available for snacks. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs for comfort, as there’s no other seating. This is a FREE event, although canned food donations for local charities are appreciated.

Firework Fest at Westgate Entertainment District
For a more urbane type of evening try Firework Fest at Westgate on Tuesday, July 4 from 5 – 9 p.m. with FREE fireworks beginning at 9 p.m. Kids will experience FREE face painting, balloon twisting, classically restored fire trucks, and a fun splash pad. Adults can enjoy an outdoor beer garden with live music for a cost.
Westgate Entertainment District, located next to the State Farm Stadium, is at 6770 N. Sunrise Blvd, Glendale, AZ 85305. Although the fireworks show is free, the website suggests you make early reservations at Westgate’s restaurants if you plan on eating there. Parking at Westgate will be limited; however, free parking will be available in surrounding lots. Click here for details.
Fabulous Phoenix Fourth 2023
The annual Fabulous Phoenix 4th features one of the largest fireworks displays in the Southwest. Before the fireworks begin, the kiddies can enjoy a great selection of rides, inflatables and activities.
This FREE, non-alcoholic family event will attract thousands of attendees on Tuesday, July 4, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Steele Indian School Park, located at 300 East Indian School Road, Phoenix, 85012.
Bring your picnic blanket or folding chairs, and get out early to ensure a good spot to watch the live entertainment. Food Trucks will be on site for dinner choices.

Arizona Celebration of Freedom, Mesa
Now this is one patriotic event – the Arizona Celebration of Freedom. Head over to the Mesa Convention Center at 263 N. Center Street, Mesa, 85201 on Tuesday, July 4 from 6 to 10 p.m.
The FREE fireworks show begins at 9:30 p.m. Before then, experience a broad array of attractions and events.
Along with historic reenactments, witness brand new citizens of the United States at their naturalization ceremony. Participants can also honor Arizona’s fallen heroes from the war on terrorism at a memorial. On the much lighter side, a BMX Stunt Show and a Car Show are planned. Click here for more details.
Peoria’s All-American Festival
Peoria’s All-American Festival begins at 5 – 10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4th at the Peoria Sports Complex located at 16101 N. 83rd Avenue, Peoria, 85382. Family fun abounds at this celebration, which will stretch throughout the entire sports complex. FREE general admission to events and activities.
Along with the fireworks display, which begin at sundown, quench your thirst and appetite at a delicious assortment of food vendors. Entertainment includes live music by local favorites, Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers and Azz Izz.
Don’t forget to bring the kids’ swimsuits, enormous water slides are promised. For adults and children who have sensory processing needs, there will be a Sensory Room in the Visitor’s Clubhouse, so everyone can experience the fun. Click here for more details.
Goodyear Star Spangled Fourth
Join the good people of Goodyear as they celebrate a Star Spangled Fourth with a bang on Tuesday, July 4. Dance to entertaining live music. Enjoy delicious food and drinks. There will be free give-a-ways and bouncy houses for the kids. Fireworks, parking, and fun activities are FREE.

Gilbert 4th of July Celebration
Head over to Gilbert’s 4th of July Celebration this year. This FREE, family-friendly event will take place on Tuesday, July 4 at Gilbert Regional Park, from 4 to 9 p.m.
Gilbert Regional Park is located at 3005 East Queen Creek Road, Gilbert, 85298.
Experience live performances, aerial entertainment, drones, and a fireworks show.
Parking will cost $15. The parking lot opens at 4 p.m. The park is fully accessible by strollers, wheelchairs and walkers. ADA Parking is first come first serve and a parking placard will be required.
Tolleson 4th of July Celebration
The City of Tolleson is happy to announce a FREE fireworks display on July 4 from 4 to 9:30 p.m. at Veterans Park.
While waiting for the fireworks to begin, there will be live entertainment to jam to, watermelon to eat, and water slides for children of all ages. All FREE.
A special deal from the city: FREE Uber rides to this 4th of July Celebration. The city is granting an Uber Voucher to its citizens, valid Tuesday, July 4 from 7 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. According to the website, if you pay your water bill to Tolleson, you’re eligible for the voucher.
