For entertaining holiday fun bring the whole family to an imaginative puppet show at the Great Arizona Puppet Theater this fall. Even though innovative puppet shows are performed all year, don’t miss the fanciful ones the theater has in store with Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas themes, showing through December.
Parents and caregivers around the Valley know this theater is a great value at $12 a show for adults and $8 for children. Creativity abounds; puppeteers create their own puppet characters and write the innovative shows. The Great Arizona Puppet Theater has truly been a point of pride for our city since 1983. Check out some of the puppet shows at the theater this fall.
Enjoy Old MacDonald’s Pumpkin Patch, showing October 6 – 30, sing-a-long and laugh with all the animals as they find costumes for Halloween.
For a lesson in being grateful, The Little Red Hen, showing November 4 – 13 and November 25 – 27, is an inviting musical that tells of a hen that works hard to make delicious bread to share.
Santa is on hand for this musical, The Elves and the Shoemaker, showing December 9 – 24, when the Elves come to the aid of a poor shoemaker and his wife.
Puppet shows are recommended for ages 2 and up. Show days and times are Fridays at 10am, Saturdays at 10am & 2pm, and Sundays at 2pm.
Check out what else the Great Arizona Puppet Theater is planning for the coming months, including a show from a master marionette puppeteer and one from a Dineh puppeteer celebrating Native American culture.
The Great Arizona Puppet Theater is located at 302 West Latham St., Phoenix, 85003, across the street from the Margaret T. Hance park.
