‘Tis the season for spring time family fun. Easter is this weekend, Sunday, March 31, 2024. Those who gave up something for Lent may laser-focus on the upcoming date when beginning to indulge again, but for others, it might be a surprise that Easter is coming up so quickly.
The big day itself is a great opportunity to get together with friends or family for brunch or dinner, but what if you have too many places to go and too many people to see to fit into just a few hours? Luckily, many places are making it easier to enjoy early Easter family activities. See below for some FREE or cheap ways to celebrate.
The FREE Great Ahwatukee Easter Egg HuntÂ
Come join the fun at the annual Easter Egg hunt on Saturday, March 30Â from 10 am – 1 pm at Kyrene de la Estrella. A fun day of events for the whole family. Enjoy the perfect day with egg hunt, photo booth, photos with the Easter Bunny, bounce houses, food trucks, games, face painting, raffles, music, and more.
Please check the website carefully, this same event has been listed on multiple dates.
FREE Egg-stravaganza at Phoenix’s Kroc Center
This egg-stravagant event takes place at the Salvation Army’s Kroc Center on Saturday, March 23, from 10 am – 1 pm. From arts and crafts to games, music, and food trucks, there’s something for everyone. Kids will love the inflatable bounce houses and obstacle course, while parents can check out community resource booths and enjoy dance performances.
- Egg Hunts at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. for ages 0-4, 5-8, and 9-12.
FREE Easter Festival & Glow Egg Hunt, Chandler
Experience a black light, glow in the dark egg hunt running indoors on Saturday, March 23 at 6 p.m. at The Springs Church. Enjoy outside giant inflatables, food trucks, plus carnival games. There’s also a photo booth, FREE popcorn and cotton candy, FREE face painting, and an appearance from the Easter Bunny.
FREE Bunny Bash at Tempe Marketplace
Jump on over to the Tempe Marketplace for a fantastic springtime celebration on Saturday, March 23 from 11 a.m. – 1 pm. Get pictures with the Easter bunny, enjoy an egg hunt, and dance to live entertainment. Create fun crafts, pick up free giveaways, and more.
- Look for the Bunny Bash at Tempe Marketplace’s District Street.
FREE Bunny Bash at Desert Ridge Marketplace
Hop on over to the ultimate spring celebration at Desert Ridge Marketplace on Saturday, March 16 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in Northeast Phoenix. Snap a free photo with some bunny special and enjoy an egg hunt, live entertainment, crafts, giveaways and more throughout Desert Ridge Marketplace’s District area. Looks like a similar celebration to Tempe Marketplace’s.Â
Free Bunny Photos before and after the event: Thursday, March 14 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 17 from 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m. Both Photo-Ops are located near AMC Theatres inside Desert Ridge’s The District.
FREE Easter Egg Hunt at Enchanted Island
Bring even your littlest children, ages 1 to 10, out for free Easter egg hunts on Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31 from 9 am – 1:30 pm in Central Phoenix at Encanto Park’s Enchanted Island. The eggs are prize-filled with toys, hard candy, or Enchanted Island coupons for free rides and more.
Each age group will start at its own time, so be sure to check Enchanted Island’s site for the schedule, and arrive early to be sure you can register in time. Bring your own basket.
- Youngest kids start at 9 am.
FREE Great Egg Hunt and Family Fair at Arizona Boardwalk
Donât miss Easter Egg Hunts and professional photos with the Easter Bunny on Saturday, March 30 from 10 am – 2 pm at the Arizona Boardwalk in Scottsdale. Enjoy interactive stage entertainment, bounce houses, face painting, Easter crafts, coloring contests, music, games, and tons of prizes.
Welcome spring and have fun at these free and cheap Easter 2024 events. Most of the Easter egg hunts at these events are family-style BYOB, bring your own basket. Even though these are free events, bring some money for food, games, etc. Use the websites linked to each event to register and/or to confirm the time and place of the event.
FREE Easter Festival at Rock Church in Scottsdale
Join the good folks at Rock Church for a totally FREE Easter Festival. Enjoy delicious candy, cookies, and popcorn along with, of course, an Easter Egg Hunt. To add to the fun, the kids can climb on inflatables and play exciting games. Don’t forget the family photo with the Easter Bunny, all FREE!
The Easter Festival at Rock Church is on Saturday, March 30 from 1 – 3 p.m.
